Director Visa

The long stay visa can be grated to any foreign citizen for a period of 90 days, upon request for different purposes: economic activities, professional activities, commercial activities, employment, studies, family reunification, humanitarian or religious activities, scientific research or other purposes.

The last type of long stay visa is granted by the diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania from the country of their residence for those who were assigned as administrators of a company if they meet certain conditions. Therefore, the director visa is granted based on the following:

• They have the quality of administrator
• At the moment of the request they are not associates or shareholders at the company they administrate, nor in other Romanian companies and had not had these qualities for the past 2 years
• There is no other foreigner at the company that has received administrator long-stay visa
• The company must have realized a capital contribution or transfer of technology of a minimum amount of 50.000 euro.

On the other hand, foreign citizens that have entered Romania with a long-stay visa for other purposes, may request the prolonging of their temporary stay rights if they were assigned as a company’s administrator by meeting all of the following criteria:

• They have the quality of administrator
• At the moment of the request they are not associates or shareholders at the company they administrate, nor in other Romanian companies and had not had these qualities for the past 2 years
• There is no other foreigner at the company that has received administrator long-stay visa
• The company must have realized a capital contribution or transfer of technology of a minimum amount of 50.000 euro
• In addition, at next prolongations they must prove that the capital contribution was transformed in building or buying constructions destined as locations for developing their activities as in the Nomenclature of the Classification of Activities in the National Economy or in transfer of technology.

Therefore, the administrator visa is a long-term stay permit that will allow a foreign citizen to run a company in Romania if they meet all criteria necessary.
